Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin has sent invitations to political party leaders and state protocol figures for the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Nihan Elif Tekin, and Mehmet Kılıç, which will be held in Ankara on November 18.
It was stated that among Tekin's invitees are President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP chairmanship following a nullity decision. It was learned that the ceremony will be held at the ATO Congresium.
Speaking to Sabah columnist Yavuz Donat, Tekin said that differences in political views should not take precedence over personal relationships. It was reported that Tekin wants to bring together figures from different parties at the wedding.
According to Donat, Tekin requested an appointment with Kılıçdaroğlu, visited him, and delivered the invitation in person. It was noted that Kılıçdaroğlu was pleased with the invitation and stated that he would attend the ceremony.
Tekin stated that he would also request an appointment to deliver an invitation to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Noting that he had also met with Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan and Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici, Tekin said that both leaders would attend the wedding.
Responding to a question about who the wedding witnesses would be, Tekin stated that no final decision had been made on this matter yet and that the witnesses would be determined based on the names attending the ceremony.
The wedding ceremony for Nihan Elif Tekin and Mehmet Kılıç will take place on Wednesday, November 18, at 19:30. A cocktail reception will be held at 18:30 before the ceremony.
