Alper Gezeravcı's Dragon capsule continues its journey toward the International Space Station
The SpaceX spacecraft carrying Turkey's first space traveler, Alper Gezeravcı, was successfully launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on January 18, 2024. The Falcon 9 rocket that performed the launch landed back on Earth successfully after completing its mission.
Alper Gezeravcı, as Turkey's first astronaut, is traveling to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of Turkey's project to send a human into space for the first time.
The SpaceX spacecraft, the Dragon capsule, was successfully launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket that performed the launch completed its mission and landed back on Earth successfully.
The Dragon capsule, carrying Alper Gezeravcı and the other astronauts, is continuing its journey toward the International Space Station. The Dragon capsule is expected to arrive at the ISS around 05:15 AM US local time on Saturday (13:15 Turkish time). It will take approximately 36 hours for the space travelers to reach the ISS.
SpaceX announced that the space journey of the Ax-3 mission can be followed via the link "https://www.spacex.com/follow-dragon".
