The Ministry of National Defense has announced that the Göktürk-1 satellite, one of Turkey's observation satellites, is now 7 years old.
The Göktürk-1 satellite, one of the satellites meeting Turkey's observation needs, is 7 years old. The satellite began its mission after being launched from the Kourou Launch Center in French Guiana on December 5, 2016.
Commanded by personnel from the Reconnaissance Satellite Battalion Command under the Air Force Command, the satellite has orbited the Earth 37,378 times.
Throughout its mission, the satellite has captured 82,913 images. The Göktürk-1 satellite is located at an orbital altitude of 680 kilometers and moves at a speed of 7.5 kilometers per second.
Furthermore, the Göktürk-1 satellite is capable of capturing images from any region on Earth without geographical restrictions.
