Apple has announced its iPad mini model in the compact tablet family with a comprehensive refresh. Key highlights of the new model include an OLED panel, an A20 Pro processor with 2-nanometer architecture, an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, and a front camera moved to the landscape edge.
The new iPad mini, which is stated to start at a price of 48,999 TL in Turkey, will be offered in midnight and starlight color options. While the device's body thickness has been reduced to 5.4 mm, the screen size has increased to 8.5 inches due to thinner bezels.
OLED DISPLAY AND NEW DESIGN
The Super Retina XDR OLED display promises deeper blacks and a wide P3 color gamut with pixel-level lighting control. It is reported that the maximum brightness reaches 1200 nits, while the minimum brightness can drop to 1 nit. A nano-texture glass option is also being offered for the first time in the mini series.
With its IP67 certification, the new iPad mini gains official water and dust resistance support for the first time in the series. This feature makes the tablet a more durable option for outdoor use and daily mobility.

On the audio side, the device uses a new system that Apple calls "Acoustic Display." A more balanced audio experience is targeted with bass drivers matched to the screen panel and tweeters hidden in the body. For video calls, the 12 MP Center Stage front camera is now positioned on the landscape edge. On the back, there is a 12 MP wide-angle camera and an Adaptive True Tone flash.
In terms of performance, the A20 Pro chip sits at the heart of the new iPad mini. It is stated that the 6-core CPU provides a 60 percent increase in multi-core performance, while the 7-core GPU increases graphics power by 2.7 times with hardware-accelerated ray tracing support.
Neural accelerators integrated into the GPU cores are used for artificial intelligence operations. It is noted that a total of 32-core Neural Engine support is included in storage options of 512 GB and above. On the connectivity side, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support are offered with the Apple-designed N1 chip.
The C2 modem system used in cellular models aims for up to a 50 percent increase in cellular data speeds and better energy efficiency compared to the previous generation. eSIM integration is also among the connectivity options for the new iPad mini while on the move.
