New lyric limit introduced for free listeners on YouTube Music

Google's popular music app, YouTube Music, has introduced a new restriction for free members with a long-awaited update. With the latest change, free users will now only be able to view the lyrics for five different songs. Users who exhaust their limit will no longer be able to access the lyrics.

According to the new policy announced by the company, a warning card that appears in the center of the screen while listening to music shows the remaining lyric allowance. Once the five-song limit is reached, users can neither scroll down to read the full lyrics nor see the lyrics window, which appears mostly blurred.

This change began to be applied to all free users worldwide as of February 7. The restriction stands out as a new strategy to encourage users to become Premium subscribers to take advantage of more features.

Since free users will no longer be able to view as many lyrics as they want, listeners who are curious about song lyrics will need to consider subscription options. This newly developed policy aims to increase the number of Premium subscribers.
