Sponsored response era in ChatGPT
It is claimed that a model prioritizing sponsored content in ChatGPT responses is being considered at OpenAI. In the planned system, it is on the agenda for advertisements to be shown to the user after a certain stage in the chat flow.
In internal discussions held within OpenAI, the option of granting privilege to sponsored results among the responses generated by ChatGPT was addressed. According to this approach, advertising content could appear at the top of the responses given to questions asked by users.
For example, it is stated that if a user asks for information about an ibuprofen dosage for a headache, sponsored content from a brand like Advil could be shown at the beginning of the response, while neutral information could be presented further down.
NEW SPACE FOR ADVERTISERS
According to the report on NTV, the approximately 900 million weekly users announced by OpenAI for ChatGPT make the platform a remarkable medium for advertisers. Experts state that advertisements to be placed in a chat-based artificial intelligence environment that interacts one-on-one with the user could create a higher impact compared to traditional digital advertisements.
WHEN WILL THE ADS BE SHOWN?
In the evaluations within the company, the presentation format and timing of the advertisements come to the fore. In the draft prepared to ensure that the user experience is not negatively affected, it is planned that the advertisements will not be shown in the first message of the chat, but after the user's second question. Thus, it is aimed to prevent ad density at the beginning of the conversation.
