Al Ahli makes a move for Greenwood!
It has been claimed that Al Ahli made an offer for Mason Greenwood including a high salary and transfer fee, but the English player wants to remain in Europe.
It is alleged that an offer from Saudi Arabia for Mason Greenwood, one of the most notable names of the transfer window, has been turned down. It was reported that Al Ahli stepped in for the English footballer, who is also said to be on Fenerbahçe's radar, but did not receive a positive response from the player.
According to information shared by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Al Ahli held a meeting with Greenwood. It is claimed that the Saudi Arabian representative offered the 24-year-old footballer an annual salary of 10 million Euros and a transfer fee of 50 million Euros to his club, Marseille.
Greenwood's rejection of this offer is interpreted as a sign of his desire to continue his career in Europe. This development has brought the possibility of a transfer back to the forefront for Fenerbahçe, which is also said to be interested in the player.
While reports suggesting that the Yellow-Navy Blues have made progress on the Greenwood transfer remain on the agenda, Fenerbahçe had previously officially denied some claims regarding the process. Nevertheless, recent developments have strengthened assessments that the player is prioritizing the European option.
Greenwood, who has delivered a remarkable performance in a Marseille jersey, produced a total of 48 goals and 17 assists in 81 matches over the last two seasons with the French team. The English footballer was also voted "Player of the Year" by fans last season.
