Tevfik Yamantürk, who has served as the President of the Divan Board at Beşiktaş for 8 years, has announced his resignation.
Beşiktaş Divan Board President Tevfik Yamantürk has announced that he is stepping down from his position.
In his statement regarding his departure, Yamantürk said, "I have decided to leave the position I have proudly held for 8 years, effective as of today."
Yamantürk's statement is as follows:
"To the Great Beşiktaş Community,
After proudly serving as the President of the BJK Divan Board for 8 years, I have decided to step down as of today. I had previously announced to the public that I would not be a candidate for the Divan Board Presidency again, even though there was 1.5 years left until the Divan Board election. I offer my most sincere wishes for success to the new president and management of this glorious and honorable position, for the sake of Beşiktaş's interests and to maintain my impartiality.
My journey of service to Beşiktaş began under the management of Süleyman Seba as the youngest Vice President in our history; subsequently, I proudly served for 8 years as the President of the Divan Board of Beşiktaş, our first major sports club and one of the most deep-rooted non-governmental organizations of the Republic of Turkey, of which I am proud to be a member.
On this occasion, I reiterate my faith in our club's past and future, and I express my gratitude to our Divan members who have shown their favor since the first day, to my Divan Board colleagues who have always been by my side, to all our managers, our athletes, and the Great Beşiktaş Community."
