Fenerbahçe fan leader Cem Gölbaşı arrested
Fenerbahçe fan leader Cem Gölbaşı and 4 others, who were detained in an operation by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Bureau, have been arrested by the court.
Cem Gölbaşı, the leader of the Fenerbahçe fan group Genç Fenerbahçeliler (GFB), and 7 others were targeted by police action following a video they circulated on social media.
Gölbaşı and his associates were detained in an operation conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Bureau on charges of 'extortion', 'robbery', 'torture', 'disclosing images and sounds related to private life', and 'depriving a person of their liberty using force, threats, or deception'.
Following the completion of their questioning at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse. After their statements to the prosecutor, Cem Gölbaşı, I. A., S. Ş., Ş. B., and U. Ö. were referred to the duty magistrate judge with a request for arrest, while suspects H. M. Ş. and Y. A. were referred with a request for judicial control measures.
Among the suspects who gave their statements in court, Cem Gölbaşı, I. A., S. Ş., Ş. B., and U. Ö. were arrested on charges of robbery at a workplace by more than one person, torture, disclosing images and sounds related to private life, and depriving a person of their liberty using force, threats, or deception. It was decided that judicial control measures would be applied to suspects H. M. Ş. and Y. A. for the crime of threatening with more than one person.
