The 2025 Formula 1 season concluded with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, determining the season's champion. Although Red Bull driver Max Verstappen started the race from pole position, Lando Norris finished the final race in 3rd place, ending the season with 423 points and claiming the championship crown.

THE GAP BETWEEN VERSTAPPEN AND NORRIS CLOSED

Before the Abu Dhabi race, Max Verstappen was in second place in the drivers' championship with 396 points. Finishing the race in first place, Verstappen ended the season in second place with 421 points. However, Lando Norris's strategy and performance in the race proved sufficient for the championship.

NORRIS ADDS FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP TO HIS CAREER IN ABU DHABI

Entering the final race with a 12-point advantage, Lando Norris finished the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 3rd place. With this result, Norris reached 423 points, surpassing Verstappen, who remained at 421 points, to win the first championship of his Formula 1 career.

In the race, Max Verstappen started from pole position, while Lando Norris started in second place. McLaren driver Oscar Piastri maintained his 3rd place position to conclude the season.

VERSTAPPEN REMAINS IN SECOND PLACE

Although Verstappen finished the Abu Dhabi GP in the lead, he could not secure enough points to win the championship. Reaching 421 points in the final race of the season, Verstappen finished in second place behind the other McLaren driver, Norris.
