İsmail Kartal: I have resigned from my position

In the first week of the UEFA Champions League, Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with their guests, Roma.

Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal made evaluations at the press conference held after the match.

Kartal stated, "I congratulate my players who carried out the duties I assigned to them to the letter in tonight's match. It was a contest worthy of the Champions League. We could have won the match; we had very clear chances. The first match ended in a draw. I am proud of my players."

I would like to thank our fans, members of the media, my staff, and my player brothers who have supported me to this day.

I have left my post this evening. I made this decision to clear the way for my club.

We made this decision as a team. From now on, to help my Fenerbahçe, my players, and the coaches who will come, I have resigned from my position, while the road is still short, with the condition of never returning."
