Marouane Fellaini retires from football!

Marouane Fellaini, known for his performance at Everton and his characteristic hairstyle, and whose name was also linked with Turkish clubs, has announced his retirement from football at the age of 36. The Belgian footballer, who most recently played for the Chinese Super League team Shandong Taishan, announced the end of his active football career in a post on social media.

In his post reflecting on his 18-year professional football career, Fellaini stated, "Today, I am announcing my retirement from professional football after an 18-year career."

The Belgian player spent one of the brightest periods of his career at Everton. After transferring from Standard Liege in 2008, he played in midfield after starting as a center-forward at Everton. Making 177 appearances in an Everton jersey, Fellaini recorded 33 goals and 26 assists. Transferring to Manchester United in 2013 for 28 million pounds, Fellaini played 177 matches in the midfield position over 6 seasons there, contributing 22 goals and 12 assists.

The Belgian footballer transferred to the Chinese team Shandong Taishan in 2019. Throughout his career, Fellaini won titles in the Belgian Pro League, Chinese FA Cup, UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup, FA Community Shield, and the Chinese Super League. Scoring 118 goals in a total of 580 matches in his professional club career, Fellaini also made 87 appearances for the Belgian National Team, recording 18 goals.
