Merkezefendi Sports Club's national boxer Nefise Kaymakçı will compete in the red-and-white jersey at the U-17 European Boxing Championships held in Budva, Montenegro. Kaymakçı, who will enter the ring in the 60-kilogram category, will represent Turkey and Denizli at the event.
The young athlete, who joined the national team squad after winning first place at the Turkish Championships, completed a training camp period that lasted approximately three months ahead of the tournament. Kaymakçı's goal at the championship, which will take place between October 1 and 12, is to reach the medal podium.
Merkezefendi Sports Club and National Team Boxing Coach Asiltürk Özuysal will also serve at the event in Budva. The performance of Kaymakçı, who was developed as part of the club's support for sports and athletes, will be closely followed by the Denizli sports community.
Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan wished Kaymakçı and Özuysal success, noting that the young athlete will enter the ring following a training camp period she completed with the title of Turkish Champion. Doğan stated that she believes all national athletes competing in the red-and-white jersey will make the country proud with their achievements.
