Mete Gazoz wins bronze medal at World Cup
Competing in the final leg of the 2026 Archery World Cup in Mexico, Mete Gazoz won the bronze medal in the men's recurve category.
According to the statement from the Turkish Archery Federation, Mete was defeated 6-0 by Japan's Junya Nakanishi in the semifinals of the event held in the city of Saltillo.
Mete Gazoz defeated Frenchman Jean-Charles Valladont 6-0 in the third-place match to claim the bronze medal in the men's recurve.
Ulaş Berkim Tümer, who competed in the men's recurve, and Hazal Burun, who shot in the women's compound bow, were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
The total number of medals won by the Turkish athletes at the 2026 Archery World Cup has risen to 15 (4 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze).
