New foreign player quota at TFF to be determined
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Board of Directors will make a final decision today regarding the number of foreign players allowed to play in the league.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Board of Directors will make a final decision today regarding the official requests submitted by Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor to increase the number of foreign players.
While some clubs have been preparing their squads in accordance with the current foreign player limit, clubs such as Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor had requested an increase in the number of foreign players. These clubs stated that they were experiencing grievances due to having excess foreign players and had requested a rule change.
WE WILL EVALUATE THIS ISSUE WITH THE FEDERATION
Following the most recent meeting, Union of Clubs and Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç also stated, "Our federation increased the number of foreign players from 12 to 14. Some clubs have too many foreign players, and this situation leads to players remaining without a transfer fee. We will evaluate this issue with the federation."
A final decision regarding the number of foreign players is expected to be made at today's meeting of the TFF Board of Directors. It is highly anticipated how clubs will direct their squad planning following the decision.
