PSG advances to semi-finals after overcoming Aston Villa
In the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg, Aston Villa hosted PSG.
The match played at Villa Park was won 3-2 by the hosts. Having won the first leg 3-1, PSG secured their place in the semi-finals with a 5-4 aggregate score.
The French side took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Achraf Hakimi in the 11th minute, and extended the lead to 2 with a goal from Nuno Mendes in the 28th minute.
Aston Villa reduced the deficit to 1 with a goal from Youri Tielemans in the 34th minute.
Starting the second half quickly, the English side equalized through John McGinn in the 55th minute and took a 3-2 lead with a goal from Ezri Konsa in the 58th minute.
Managing to protect the score in the remaining time, PSG became the side to secure the ticket to the next round.
GOALKEEPERS LEFT THEIR MARK
PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez left their mark on the match with their saves.
In the semi-finals, PSG will face the winner of the Arsenal-Real Madrid tie.
The first leg of the semi-finals will be played on April 29/30, and the second legs on May 6/7. The final match will take place at the Allianz Arena on May 31.
