Sergen Yalçın's name booed before Trabzonspor match
Before the match where Beşiktaş hosted Trabzonspor, black-and-white fans staged a protest with whistles when Sergen Yalçın's name was announced over the stadium speakers.
Beşiktaş is hosting Trabzonspor in the 33rd week of the Trendyol Süper Lig. The reaction from fans continues against the black-and-white team, which said goodbye to the cup, their biggest goal this season, after losing to Konyaspor at home in the Turkish Cup semi-finals last week.
Fans had called for Sergen Yalçın to resign after the Konyaspor match. This evening, as the team lineups were announced over the stadium speakers before the match, black-and-white fans staged a protest with whistles when Yalçın's name was read.
5-minute silent protest from fans
Beşiktaş fans also remained silent in the stands for the first 5 minutes of the Trabzonspor match. Following a call made by fan groups on social media before the match, the fans turned their backs to the pitch and held a silent protest for the first 5 minutes.
