The venue for the Turkey-Spain match has been announced!

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced that the A National Football Team's match against Spain, as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers, will be played in Konya.

According to information on the TFF website, the Medaş Konya Metropolitan Stadium will host this important match, which will kick off on Sunday, September 7, at 21:45.

Konya has previously hosted many important matches for the National Team. The Crescent-Stars have recorded 4 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses in the 8 matches they have played there. The national team scored a total of 15 goals in these matches while conceding 7. In particular, the victories against the Netherlands and Iceland in the EURO 2016 Qualifiers, France in the EURO 2020 Qualifiers, and Latvia in the EURO 2024 Qualifiers remain among Konya's unforgettable memories.

The TFF statement recalled that the National Team qualified for the 2016 European Championship by defeating Iceland 1-0 on October 13, 2015, with a last-minute free-kick goal by Selçuk İnan, and took a significant step toward the 2020 European Championship by beating France 2-0 on June 8, 2019. Furthermore, it was noted that participation in the 2024 European Championship was secured with a 4-0 victory against Latvia on October 15, 2023.

The National Team will play its first match in Group E away against Georgia on Thursday, September 4. This match, which will take place at the Boris Paichadze National Stadium in Tbilisi, will start at 19:00 Turkish time. Turkey is in the same group as Bulgaria, Georgia, and Spain in the qualifiers.
