Child sexual abuse in Şanlıurfa: 4 children arrested
The Şanlıurfa Governor's Office announced that 4 children taken into custody regarding a horrific incident in which a 15-year-old child was sexually abused in the Haliliye district have been arrested.
A horrific incident has occurred in the Haliliye district of Şanlıurfa.
According to Sabah, it is alleged that a 15-year-old boy was sexually abused by four other boys identified as M.D. (15), Y.B. (15), M.B. (15), and İ.H.B. (15).
Following the family's report to the Gendarmerie on 19.02.2025 regarding the sexual abuse allegations, the suspects identified as M.D. (15), Y.B. (15), M.B. (15), and İ.H.B. (15) were apprehended and taken into custody by teams from the Haliliye District Gendarmerie Command.
According to AA, the Şanlıurfa Governor's Office reported that 4 out of 5 children taken into custody on allegations of sexual abuse have been arrested.
In a written statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was noted that an application was made to the Gendarmerie by a 15-year-old child and their family in the Haliliye district regarding sexual abuse allegations, and the following was recorded:
"Upon the application, 4 of the 5 children identified as suspects and referred to judicial authorities were arrested, while one child was released under judicial control conditions. Counseling services have been initiated for the victimized child and their family by our Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. Furthermore, the judicial investigation launched into the incident is ongoing, and the matter is being closely monitored by our Governor's Office."
