It has emerged that dogs that disappeared after causing two neighborhoods in Şanlıurfa to be quarantined were taken to Ankara. The Governor's Office announced that the individuals who transported the animals to the city have been apprehended.
The Ankara Governor's Office announced that allegations regarding the transport of disease-carrying dogs into the city have been accepted as a formal report and that all relevant units have been placed on high alert.
The initial statement from the Governor's Office included the following: "Allegations that disease-carrying dogs have been brought to our province have been accepted as a formal report, and our Governor's Office has placed all our units, primarily our law enforcement agencies and our Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, on high alert. We are determined to fight to the end against all actions and practices directed at the health of our citizens and the right to life of other living beings."
THEY HAVE BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The second statement from the Governor's Office is as follows: "As a result of the work carried out by our Security Forces regarding the issue of the diseased dogs brought to our province, the animals were located and have been placed under quarantine under the supervision of our veterinarians. The individuals who directed and brought the animals in question to our province have been apprehended and taken into custody in accordance with the instructions of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and legal proceedings have been initiated against them. Respectfully announced to the public."
