Suicide shocks Izmir Metropolitan Municipality

Haydar İnanır, who had served as a bodyguard for Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay since his time as Mayor of Karşıyaka, died by suicide with a firearm last night.

According to the report in İzgazate, an investigation into the incident has been launched.

Following the local elections held on March 31, Cemil Tugay, who took office as the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, had transferred İnanır from Karşıyaka Municipality to the Metropolitan Municipality.
