Tick claims another life... 39-year-old woman could not be saved

İlknur Ekinci, a mother of three, was bitten by a tick while traveling from the Talas district to the Kızılören neighborhood of Pınarbaşı district to slaughter a sacrificial animal on the first day of Eid al-Adha.

After removing the tick herself, Ekinci began to feel unwell after a while and sought help at a health clinic in Talas. Ekinci, who returned home after receiving serum treatment there, was taken to Kayseri State Hospital when her symptoms worsened. Ekinci, who was transferred to Kayseri City Hospital after her condition deteriorated, could not be saved despite all interventions.

Ekinci's funeral was held at the Halef Hoca Cemetery following the noon prayer at the Talas Dedeoğlu Mosque. The funeral ceremony was attended by her family, relatives, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın, Hacılar Mayor Bilal Özdoğan, and many citizens.
