A 36-year-old woman was attacked by wolves in Thoiry, located approximately 40 kilometers west of the French capital Paris, after entering a safari zone reserved for vehicles to go for a morning run.
Bystanders who heard her screams rushed to help the woman, who was then taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Reports in the French press stated that the woman was seriously injured in the neck, back, and one leg during the attack by 3 wolves.
While it is unknown why the woman entered the safari zone, which is only accessible by vehicle, an unnamed police officer stated, "At this stage, we do not know if the guest made a mistake or if there was an issue with the signage."
In Thoiry, known as one of France's most popular wildlife parks, approximately 800 animals are allowed to roam freely.
Visitors can enter the safari zone by vehicle to observe the animals. The areas in the park housing wolves and bears are protected by electric fences and ditches.
