After France, Greece is under threat from bedbugs

Yorgos Lambru, President of the Hellenic Association of Pest Control Companies (SEAME), stated in an interview with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) that the country has gone on "high alert" due to bedbugs, which are frequently seen across the country, especially in tourist areas.

Pointing out that bedbugs can easily spread through luggage and public transport, Lambru reported that the insects have been spotted in hotels, campsites, and apartment buildings.

Lambru noted that the threat of bedbugs, which increases particularly during the summer months, is growing, and warned that caution must be exercised in the use of pesticides to ensure public health is not negatively affected.

In France, which will host the 2024 Paris Olympics, concerns have also risen regarding a "bedbug infestation" encountered almost everywhere, and the insects have even been seen in schools.
