Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Bayramov holds talks with Iranian counterpart Araghchi
In a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that Azerbaijan's airspace or territory would not be used by any state to conduct military operations against Iran.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a phone call took place between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
It was stated that the ministers discussed the current situation surrounding Iran. Minister Bayramov noted that the rising tension in the region is concerning, and stated that Azerbaijan calls on all parties to refrain from steps and rhetoric that could lead to instability in Iran and the surrounding regions.
Stating that he supports the resolution of current issues only through dialogue and diplomatic means in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan's airspace or territory would never be allowed to be used by any state to conduct military operations against Iran or any other country.
In the remainder of the meeting, the ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
