US President Joe Biden has used harsh language toward Putin before.
Biden, who has described Putin as a 'killer' and a 'war criminal' in various speeches to date, has significantly hardened the language he uses toward him. While speaking about how climate change is an existential threat to humanity, Biden used the phrase, "We have a crazy SOB like that guy Putin and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is climate."
In his speech, Biden emphasized that the climate crisis is a more serious threat than even Putin. While doing so, Biden used harsh insults regarding Putin, and also used the abbreviation 'SOB', which stands for 'son of a b----' in English, to describe him.
The 81-year-old Biden has recently been making headlines for his frequent use of profane language.
Having used profane language regarding Trump in recent weeks, this marks the first time Biden has used profanity toward Russian President Putin.
Biden's harsh outburst against Putin came following the death of Russian opposition leader Navalny. Biden had previously warned Putin against the killing of Navalny, who had survived various assassination attempts. Alexei Navalny recently died under suspicious circumstances in a prison in Siberia.
