World-renowned billionaire Elon Musk, has made a donation to the campaign of his rival Donald Trump while increasing the intensity of his criticism toward US President Joe Biden, whose health condition has sparked controversy.

According to a report by Bloomberg citing various sources, Musk supported America PAC, which operates to ensure Trump is re-elected as US President, with a substantial donation. The report did not specify the amount Musk donated.

Trump, who is leading in the polls and will be officially nominated for president by the Republican Party next week, met with several wealthy individuals, including Musk, in March. Musk later stated in a message shared on social media that he had not donated to any presidential candidate.

Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla, had previously denied rumors that he would become an advisor to Trump, but had made statements supporting the Republicans. Musk, who has frequently criticized Biden's policies on social media, had also announced that he had met with Trump several times.

Trump also used the phrase "But I am a fan of Elon" in a message last month where he criticized the electric car monopoly.

Biden's campaign spokesperson James Singer stated that wealthy individuals like Elon Musk support Trump for his tax policies, saying, "He knows that while he will reduce his taxes, he will increase those of the middle class."
