Former Bloomberg executive, wife, and daughter found dead
The bodies of a former Bloomberg executive, his wife, and their 9-year-old daughter were found in their home in Greer, South Carolina. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
According to a statement from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, identification following the deaths confirmed the bodies as 54-year-old Richard Samarel, 45-year-old Lina Maria Samarel, and their 9-year-old daughter, Samantha Samarel.
The coroner provided further details regarding the incident and stated that investigations into the cause of death are ongoing.
In a statement released after the incident, police did not provide clear information on whether the deaths were a homicide, but noted that there is no threat to the public.
It was also stated that other residents who were "at school during the incident" were present in the home.
According to social media posts, the couple may also have another daughter and a young son who were in the home.
