Former Israeli intelligence official: 'Netanyahu is dragging the country toward catastrophe'
Nadav Argaman, former director of the Israeli Internal Security Service (Shin Bet), stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unfit for office and is 'dragging the country toward catastrophe.'
Speaking to Israel's Channel 12, Nadav Argaman said that elections should be held in the country as soon as possible, but that Benjamin Netanyahu is morally unfit to run for the same office again.
Argaman emphasized that Netanyahu is directly responsible for the October 7 attacks, which he described as “the greatest disaster since the founding of Israel.”
“(Netanyahu) He is responsible for the massive failure. He is responsible, there is no one else (responsible).” said Argaman, noting that someone who does not take responsibility for a failure of this magnitude is not fit to be a leader.
'WE WILL END UP IN VERY BAD PLACES'
Argaman stated, “If Netanyahu does not leave office, this will be a catastrophe for us. If the State of Israel does not get its act together quickly, I think we will end up in very bad places.”
Recalling that Netanyahu had previously spoken of Israel's far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir with “great contempt,” Argaman argued that Netanyahu used Smotrich despite knowing he had nothing to do with the economy.
Criticizing Ben-Gvir as well, Argaman expressed the view: “What does Ben-Gvir have to do with security? National Security Minister? Perhaps a better term would be the minister of national disaster.”
