Greenland Prime Minister Egede: We are Greenlandic, we do not want to be American
Greenland Prime Minister Mute Egede has once again responded to US President Donald Trump's statements that Greenland should be under US control, saying, "We are Greenlandic, we do not want to be American."
Greenland Prime Minister Mute Egede reacted to US President Donald Trump's statements regarding Greenland during a press conference he held.
Egede stated, "We are Greenlandic, we do not want to be American. We also do not want to be Danish. Greenland will decide its own future," noting that Greenland is facing a "difficult situation."
US President Donald Trump, on his first day in office, reiterated that the US should control Greenland, saying, "We need this for international security. I am sure Denmark will accept this; protecting and maintaining Greenland costs them a lot of money."
