Hegseth's message to Iran: They hope we cannot sustain it, that is a real miscalculation

Hegseth stated that military operations against Iran could be sustained, noting that Washington possesses both the military capacity and the political resolve. Hegseth expressed that Iran's belief that the US cannot sustain the operations is a "major miscalculation."

Pete Hegseth, noting that Iran thinks the US cannot sustain the military campaign, said, "Iran hopes we cannot sustain this. That is a really bad miscalculation."

Speaking at a press conference held at the Pentagon, Hegseth emphasized that the US military has sufficient ammunition stocks in terms of both defensive and offensive capacity:

"We have no shortage of ammunition. Our stocks of defensive and offensive weapons have the capacity to sustain this operation for as long as necessary."

"THE OPERATION HAS JUST BEGUN"

Hegseth drew attention to the US's military capacity and resolve, stating that the operations are still in their initial phase.

"We have neither a lack of will nor a lack of ammunition. Our capabilities are clear. In fact, we have just begun," said Hegseth, expressing that the duration of the operations will be determined by the US.

Hegseth also criticized some past military operations, arguing that the current strategy is different.

"We are doing the exact opposite of the meaningless wars conducted with political correctness in the past," said Hegseth, stating that the US will continue this operation decisively.

Hegseth stated in his remarks regarding the ongoing conflicts with Iran that the Washington administration's military objectives have not changed.

Responding to claims that the US's goals regarding the conflict in Iran have been expanded, Hegseth said, "Our goals have not expanded."

Hegseth's statement came following reports that US President Donald Trump wants to have a say in Iran's future leadership.
