Hot development on the Russia-Ukraine front: Airstrikes on 2 major Ukrainian cities
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who did not attend the peace negotiations in Istanbul, has accelerated attacks on Ukraine. At least 2 people were killed and 37 were injured in airstrikes on Odesa and Kharkiv.
The Istanbul negotiations, which created hope for a diplomatic solution to the Russia-Ukraine war that has been ongoing for over three years, ended without results as the expected participation was not achieved. Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who did not come to the peace talks, chose the path of attack instead of a solution. While the Kremlin remained distant from the talks, airstrikes on Ukrainian cities have gained momentum once again.
ODESA AND KHARKIV HIT
According to the statement by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Russia carried out intense airstrikes on the Odesa and Kharkiv regions throughout the night. While significant material damage occurred in the areas targeted in Kharkiv, it was reported that two civilians lost their lives and 37 people were injured. It was learned that some of the injured are in critical condition.
CIVILIAN SETTLEMENTS TARGETED
Authorities emphasized that the attacks targeted civilian residential areas and stated that search and rescue operations are ongoing for those trapped under the rubble. In Odesa, it was stated that infrastructure and energy facilities were damaged, and power outages occurred in the city.
