Indirect technical talks between the US and Iran in Qatar have concluded

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced that the indirect technical talks between the US and Iran in Doha, the capital of Qatar, have concluded.

Emphasizing that no direct meetings were held between the Iranian and US delegations in Doha, Gharibabadi stated that the Iranian delegation's contacts were conducted solely in a trilateral format with the Qatari and Pakistani delegations.

The Iranian deputy minister noted that the first meeting of the monitoring group established to oversee the implementation of the memorandum was held. Gharibabadi stated that the discussions covered the implementation process of the memorandum of understanding, recent developments in Lebanon, and the release of Iran's frozen assets.

Gharibabadi said that the meeting also addressed Iran's assessments regarding the US violating its obligations under the first article of the memorandum concerning ending the war in Lebanon, reports of the US strengthening its military presence in the region, and threatening statements made by some US officials.

Gharibabadi emphasized that the obligations under the memorandum are a whole and cannot be evaluated separately, stating that the parties reached an agreement to establish an official communication channel for reporting and recording violations related to the memorandum of understanding signed between the US and Iran.

"Agreement reached on the release of a portion of the 6 billion dollar fund"

Gharibabadi also noted that a meeting was held with officials from the Central Bank of Qatar and that the use of a portion of Iran's 6 billion dollars in frozen funds was discussed. Gharibabadi said that the parties reached an agreement on using resources from this fund to purchase necessary goods in line with Iran's needs.
