Iran: If this isn't another example of the US breaking its word, then what is?
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized a statement from the White House claiming that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire agreement reached between the parties, asking, "If this isn't another example of the US breaking its word, then what is?"
Israel's attacks on Lebanon and the US stance on this issue continue to draw reactions from the Tehran administration.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei shared a video on his social media account regarding a press briefing held by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Baghaei criticized Leavitt's remarks in the footage, which suggested that the ceasefire reached between Iran and the US did not cover Lebanon. Baghaei stated, "If this isn't another example of the US breaking its word, then what is?"
In the same post, Baghaei also shared the statement by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announcing the ceasefire reached between the parties. Sharif's statement emphasized that the parties had agreed to an immediate ceasefire in every region, including Lebanon.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had also previously called for an end to the attacks on Lebanon. The Iranian press had reported that the Tehran administration might withdraw from the ceasefire process if the attacks on Lebanon were not halted.
