Iran issues statement on negotiations with the US: No meeting planned

As uncertainty continues regarding negotiations between Iran and the US, a statement has been issued by Iran concerning the talks.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei announced that no negotiation meetings at any level with the US are planned for the coming days.

Baghaei stated that Tehran's current priority is to ensure the full implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding and to pursue its demands within the scope of this arrangement.

"Oil sales and frozen assets are being monitored"

Sharing technical details regarding the articles of the Memorandum of Understanding, Baghaei reported that the US has issued the necessary licenses related to the 10th article, which covers oil sales, and that Iran is monitoring the actual implementation of these licenses.

Iranian delegation to visit Qatar, no meeting with the US

Stating that efforts are also underway for the implementation of the 11th article, which involves the release of Iran's frozen assets abroad, Baghaei announced that a delegation of Iranian experts will travel to the Qatari capital, Doha, towards the end of this week. Baghaei emphasized that any potential visits by US representatives to Doha have no connection to the Iranian delegation's schedule, and that their own delegation will be there solely to oversee the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, including the 11th article.

"The final agreement stage has not yet been reached"

Underlining that Iran and the US have not yet reached the stage of negotiating a final agreement, Baghaei referred to the 13th article of the Memorandum of Understanding, adding that according to this article, for final agreement talks to begin, the 1st, 4th, 5th, 10th, and 11th articles must first begin to be implemented and these provisions must be carried out without interruption.

The Iranian Embassy in Doha denied statements by US President Donald Trump that the Iranian side wanted to meet and that "the meeting will take place tomorrow in Doha," announcing that no preparations have yet begun for a meeting between the two countries in Doha. The embassy stated, "So far, no official information regarding this matter has been conveyed to us."
