Iran: We are continuing negotiations with seriousness and good faith

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made statements regarding the ongoing exchange of messages with the US. Baghaei stated that the purpose of Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's visit to Iran was to facilitate the exchange of messages with the US and to provide additional clarifications to clarify the texts sent between the parties.

Baghaei stated that despite having "strong and reasonable doubts" about the US side, Iran is continuing negotiations "with seriousness and good faith."

Baghaei also said that "threats and ultimatums" against Iran are ineffective and will never work.

Stating that Tehran is trying to protect its national interests and defend its legitimate rights, Baghaei accused the US administration of President Donald Trump of disrupting global energy markets and called on the international community to pressure the US to end its "maritime piracy."

Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei stated that Iran is "ready to develop protocols for safe maritime transport" in cooperation with other countries on this strait.
