Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi: US's contradictory stance is incompatible with diplomacy
In a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized the US's actions toward Iran, stating, "The unlawful behavior of the US and the contradictory stance of its leaders are incompatible with their claims of diplomacy."

According to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Araghchi briefed his Russian counterpart, Lavrov, on the latest situation in the region and stated that the US is "continuously and repeatedly violating" the ceasefire.

Criticizing the US's actions toward Iran, Araghchi noted that interventions against Iranian ports and vessels are ongoing, drawing attention to the interference with a cargo ship named Touska and the detention of its crew. Araghchi stated, "The unlawful behavior of the US and the contradictory stance of its leaders are incompatible with their claims of diplomacy. Iran will closely monitor the other side's actions and take the necessary decisions to protect its national interests and security."
Emphasis on regional stability
During the call, the two sides also emphasized cooperation between Iran and Russia to ensure regional peace and stability. Araghchi expressed his gratitude for Russia's announcement that it is ready for consultations aimed at strengthening regional stability and continuing joint diplomatic initiatives.
