Iranian Spokesperson Baghaei: Possibility of memorandum being signed by Trump and Pezeshkian is being evaluated

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made a statement regarding the signing ceremony expected to take place in Switzerland for the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran.

In an interview with the Iranian press, Baghaei stated that there has been no change in Iran's position regarding the meeting in Switzerland.

Baghaei also noted that the possibility of the memorandum being signed by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump is being evaluated. The Iranian spokesperson said, "This idea is on the table and is still being evaluated."

Trump, for his part, touched upon a similar topic while answering questions from members of the press at the closing press conference of the G7 Leaders' Summit held in Evian, France. When asked if he would stay in a nearby region for the signing ceremony expected to take place on Friday, Trump replied, "Maybe I could stay."

Trump also jokingly said that if the agreement fails, he could blame US Vice President James David Vance.

It had been said that the parties would be represented by Vance and Ghalibaf

In previous statements made by the Tehran administration regarding the signing ceremony, it had been said that the US side would be represented by Vice President Vance and the Iranian side by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
