Iranian Vice President Davoud Manzour withdraws from presidential race
In Iran, Vice President and Head of the Planning and Budget Organization Davoud Manzour has withdrawn his candidacy for the presidential election.
Davoud Manzour, one of the five figures from within the government to apply for the 14th presidential election to be held in Iran on June 28, announced that he has withdrawn his candidacy in a message shared on his social media account.
Manzour, known for his conservative identity, included the following statements in his message:
"Considering the broad participation of Revolutionary Front candidates in the presidential elections and the presence of correct options among them, I announce my withdrawal from the candidacy, while also calling on the honorable Iranian people to show maximum participation in the elections."
