Israeli media reports: Netanyahu rejected the Mossad Chief's proposal!

Israel-based Channel 12 television reported that Mossad Chief David Barnea proposed the possibility of reaching a hostage exchange deal with Hamas, but that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected it.

In its report, which cited unnamed private sources, the channel stated that Barnea expressed his belief in the possibility of reaching an agreement, while noting that Netanyahu objected to the details presented.

According to the channel, the details of the deal that Barnea believed could be signed include the release of 40 Israeli hostages and the return of residents in the northern Gaza Strip to their homes without further conditions.

The channel stated that the Prime Minister found the deal "weak" from Israel's perspective and noted that he had given instructions to prepare for the occupation of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to the same source, Israeli war cabinet members Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot supported Barnea's position, but this did not prevent Netanyahu from opposing and rejecting the deal.

The Israeli press announced that hostage exchange negotiations between Hamas and Tel Aviv had officially begun with the arrival of the Israeli delegation led by the Mossad Chief in Doha.

It was noted that Nitzan Alon, who is responsible for the file of kidnapped and missing persons in the Israeli army, was also part of the delegation.

In the report by Israel's Channel 12, it was noted that the negotiations could last approximately two weeks.
