According to reports in the national press, demonstrators who wanted to protest the election results in Yaracuy state clashed with security forces.
1 PERSON DIED, 46 DEMONSTRATORS DETAINED
In the ensuing incidents, 1 person was shot and killed, and 46 demonstrators were detained.
23 SOLDIERS INJURED
Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez stated in a post on his social media account that 23 soldiers were injured in the incidents.
Noting that some soldiers were wounded by firearms, Lopez said, "We will not allow the country to return to the darkness of 2014, 2017, and 2019. Do not take a wrong step."
Meanwhile, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab noted that a large amount of public property was damaged in the incidents and that the necessary actions would be taken against those responsible.
Dozens of people, claiming that the results of the presidential election held in Venezuela were fraudulent, have taken to the streets and are clashing with the police.
Following the conclusion of the elections, the opposition issued a statement yesterday claiming that the data from the National Electoral Council (CNE) was not accurate and that the results were fraudulent.
