Pentagon documents leaked: US plan for China revealed... Trump's Taiwan move!
Classified documents from the US Department of Defense have revealed that deterring a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan is a top US foreign policy priority. According to documents leaked to the US press, Trump's priority will be to protect the island nation's independence.
Classified documents bearing the signature of US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and distributed to Pentagon staff have been brought to light by the Washington Post. The nine-page document emphasizes that China is a primary threat to the US and that taking deterrent measures against a potential invasion of Taiwan is critical for US national security.
The document, which includes President Donald Trump's vision for preparing for a potential war against the Beijing administration, states that pressure should be applied for Taiwan to increase its defense spending. The Pentagon documents also express that the US must take defense measures against threats in strategic regions such as Greenland and the Panama Canal.
The documents also include plans for the military to take a direct role in issues such as irregular migration and drug trafficking. It is noteworthy that these documents contain language similar to a think tank report published in August 2024.

US STATE DEPARTMENT'S TAIWAN POLICY
On February 16, the US State Department changed the language regarding Taiwan on its website, removing the statement that it does not support the island's independence. The new regulation states that Taiwan is collaborating with the Pentagon on technology and semiconductor development projects and that Washington will support the island's membership in international organizations where appropriate.
While China views Taiwan as part of its own territory, Taiwan has maintained its de facto independence since 1949. China has increased its military pressure on Taiwan, noting that it may use force if necessary for the island's reunification with the mainland. China, which views the Taiwan Strait as its own territorial waters, opposes foreign military presence in the region, a situation that leads to international tension.
