Pope Francis to visit Turkey in 2025
It has been reported that Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of the Catholic world, is planning to visit Turkey in 2025. It was emphasized that the Vatican will soon contact Turkey regarding this matter.
The spiritual leader of Orthodox Christians announced that Pope Francis plans to visit Turkey next year to mark the anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea.
Speaking at an event held in Lisbon yesterday, Bartholomew said, "Pope Francis wants to celebrate this important anniversary together."
'CONTACT WILL BE MADE WITH TURKEY'
Stating that Pope Francis plans to visit the patriarchate before going to Nicaea, where the First Council of Nicaea was held, Bartholomew said that a committee has been formed for the visit preparations and that the Vatican will soon contact Turkey on the matter.
While the health of Pope Francis, who will turn 88 in December, makes international travel increasingly difficult, he is expected to visit Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Singapore in early September, and Belgium towards the end of September.
