Protest in support of Maduro in New York

Following the military operation carried out by the United States in Venezuela, the removal of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores from the country and their transfer to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, has sparked widespread protests in the city.

Demonstrators gathered in front of the detention center to express their opposition to the intervention, which was carried out under the instructions of the Donald Trump administration and resulted in the detention of the Maduro couple. During the protests, which lasted for hours, the crowd demanded that the US administration end its military presence in Venezuela and release Maduro.

Protesters carried banners with messages such as "US out of the Caribbean," "No blood for oil," and "Stop bombing Venezuela immediately." Participants claimed that the real goal of the Trump administration was not to bring democracy to Venezuela, but to seize the country's natural resources.

In the demonstrations, where the emphasis on freedom and democracy came to the fore, there were criticisms directed not only at Venezuela but also at US policy toward Palestine. During the protest, slogans in support of Palestine were frequently chanted, and signs to that effect were carried.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) maintained strict security measures throughout the demonstration, with dozens of police vehicles and personnel on duty in the area. Authorities maintained control around the detention center where Maduro is being held until morning.
