The number of soldiers in the Russian army has increased by approximately 180,000.

According to the decree signed by Putin and published in the Russian State System of Legal Information, the total number of personnel in the Russian Armed Forces has been set at 2 million 389 thousand 130, including 1 million 500 thousand soldiers.

The decree in question will enter into force on December 1.
