Qatari Foreign Minister Al-Thani and Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi hold phone call
Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, in a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, demanded that Iran immediately cease its attacks on Qatar.
Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation.
In a statement regarding the call, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Araghchi told Al-Thani that Iran's missile attacks were not directed at Qatar but were targeting the US. The ministry stated that Al-Thani categorically rejected this explanation and demanded that Iran immediately stop its attacks on Qatar.
The ministry further noted that Al-Thani told Araghchi that his country would resist any form of aggression and maintains the right to self-defense.
Al-Thani also emphasized that Qatar has always been in favor of dialogue and diplomacy conducted in good faith.
