Russia announces US has shared new information regarding the Ukraine war: 'Putin agrees with Trump's position'

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Peskov stated that 'additional information regarding Ukraine was conveyed to the Russian side during the meeting held yesterday.' It was suggested that during the meeting, which took place as part of Witkoff's visit to Moscow, Putin sent certain information and signals to Trump.

In his statement to reporters in Moscow, Peskov emphasized that Putin supports Trump's approach but that some issues need clarification, stating, 'There is much work to be done, but Putin agrees with Trump's position. There are reasons for cautious optimism.'

Addressing the possibility of a phone call between Putin and Trump, Peskov made the following assessment:

'The timing of the call has not yet been determined. This issue will become clear after Witkoff conveys the information he received in Moscow to Trump. Both sides agree that a phone call is necessary.'

DID RUSSIA INTERFERE WITH THE US DELEGATION?

Responding to allegations that the US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, withdrew from negotiations at Russia's request, Peskov said, 'I cannot confirm these allegations. This is the Americans' own decision. It is illogical to think that Russia is interfering in the internal affairs of the US.'

Regarding Iran's nuclear program, Peskov stated:

'Iran has in no way expressed an intention to acquire nuclear weapons. Therefore, the sanctions imposed on Iran are illegal. Diplomatic efforts must continue to resolve the issue.'
