Russia has begun withdrawing its troops from Syria. Local sources stated that Russia has started evacuating its base in Qamishli, located in northeastern Syria, where the SDF—the Syrian branch of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG—is present.
Reporting that the base next to Qamishli Airport has been largely vacated, local sources stated that the withdrawal began at least 5 days ago.
Sources explained that Russia transported its equipment from the base via a cargo plane. Sources noted that there are still Russian military personnel in Qamishli, but they are gradually leaving the region.
There has been no official statement from Russia regarding the withdrawal from Qamishli.
