Russian Presidential Aide Ushakov: Preparations for the summit will begin
Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, in a statement regarding the phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, announced that preparations will begin for a summit planned to be held in Hungary between Trump and Putin.

Ushakov stated that the Trump-Putin call lasted approximately 2 and a half hours and noted that the call was requested by the Russian side. Ushakov said, "This was the 8th conversation between President Putin and President Trump this afternoon.
The conversation lasted about 2 and a half hours. Our President (Vladimir Putin) congratulated Trump on his efforts to normalize the situation in Gaza. He stated that President Trump's success is viewed positively in the Middle East, in his own country, and in countries around the world," he said.
"MISSILE SHIPMENTS WILL NOT CHANGE THE SITUATION"
Stating that Putin and Trump also touched upon the issue of Ukraine, Ushakov said, "President Putin conveyed that the Russian Armed Forces have full strategic dominance along the entire contact line. President Putin emphasized Russia's commitment to a political and diplomatic solution in Ukraine," he stated.
Ushakov also noted that during the call, Putin addressed the Tomahawk missiles that the US is planning to deliver to Ukraine, saying, "President Putin said that the shipment of Tomahawk missiles will not change the situation on the front, but will damage Russia-US relations."
"PREPARATIONS FOR THE SUMMIT WILL BEGIN"
Stating that the parties will begin preparations for a face-to-face meeting between Trump and Putin, Ushakov said, "Relevant representatives will discuss this issue. The talks will begin soon with a phone call between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As the work of the representatives and the foreign ministers progresses, it will become clear when the summit can be held," he stated.
Ushakov also added that Trump proposed that the meeting take place in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and that Putin supported this proposal.
