In France, a soldier lost his life after being shot in the head while drinking alcohol with his friends in the barracks on February 14. Paris Military Governor Loic Mizon announced the name of the deceased soldier as Alexandre Lanckbeen in a statement on his social media account.
The Paris Prosecutor's Office reported that the incident occurred on February 14 at the Percy Military Training Hospital in the commune of Clamart, near the capital Paris.
According to the prosecutor's statement, although alcohol consumption is prohibited at the facility, some soldiers obtained alcohol and held an event throughout the evening.
It was noted that a game intended to measure reflexes was subsequently played among the soldiers, during which a loaded pistol discharged, and the bullet struck Lanckbeen in the head.
It was stated that Lanckbeen, who was rushed to the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions, and that 4 soldiers have been detained in connection with the incident.
